IV · Major Arcana
The Emperor
Upright
structure, authority, boundaries, discipline
The Emperor sits on a stone throne carved with rams' heads, armored under his robe. He is the principle that a thing needs a shape to survive: rules, borders, a plan someone is accountable for. Upright, he calls for the unglamorous scaffolding — the deadline set, the boundary stated out loud, the decision made and stood behind rather than endlessly revisited.
Reversed
domination, rigidity, structure collapsing
Reversed, order hardens into control, or falls apart entirely. This is the tyrant who mistakes obedience for respect, the rule kept long past its usefulness, or the opposite — a situation with no one steering and no agreed shape. It often points to a difficult relationship with authority itself, whether you are under it or holding it.
Every draw here is a real quantum draw — The Emperor is one of the 78 you might get, and a friend of your choosing reads it aloud.
