Two figures stand chained to the Devil's block, and the chains are loose enough to lift off over their heads. That detail is the card. Upright, this is the pattern you keep choosing — the habit, the arrangement, the relationship that costs you something you have decided not to count. It is not a curse. It is a door you have not tried, and the first move is naming the thing honestly.
Reversed
breaking free, recognition, the chain lifted
Reversed, the Devil generally improves. This is the moment of seeing the mechanism clearly — the habit named, the hold weakening, the first real step out. It can be uncomfortable rather than triumphant, since seeing it does not instantly undo it. But reversed, the movement is away from the block rather than deeper into it.
