VII · Major Arcana

The Chariot

Upright

willpower, momentum, control, victory

The charioteer holds no reins — the two sphinxes pulling him move by force of will alone, and they pull in opposite directions. That is the whole lesson: forward motion is what you get when you hold contradiction steady rather than resolving it. Upright, this is drive that arrives somewhere, hard-won and deserved. Keep your grip and keep going.

Reversed

stalling, scattered force, going the wrong way fast

Reversed, the sphinxes win. Either the opposing pulls have cancelled out and you have stopped moving, or you are travelling at speed in a direction you have not questioned lately. The card asks for the harder version of control: not more effort, but a moment's honesty about where all this is heading.

Every draw here is a real quantum draw — The Chariot is one of the 78 you might get, and a friend of your choosing reads it aloud.
