Upright
will, resourcefulness, focused power
One hand raised to the sky and one pointing to the earth, the Magician is the channel through which intention becomes fact. Every tool he needs is already on his table — wand, cup, sword, and pentacle, the whole deck in miniature. Upright, he says the resources are not the missing ingredient; concentration is. Decide what you actually want, and act as though it is already underway.
Reversed
manipulation, scattered effort, untapped skill
Reversed, the power is still there but the aim has gone crooked. This can be manipulation — talent used to work on people rather than on the world — or simply energy sprayed across too many things to move any of them. Sometimes it is the plainest reading of all: you have the ability and have not picked it up.
