The Fool
Upright
beginnings, innocence, faith, the leap
The Fool steps off the cliff edge with his eyes on the sky, and the deck begins. He is the part of you that has not yet learned what is supposed to be impossible, and that ignorance is his protection rather than his danger. Upright, he asks for the leap taken before you feel ready — not recklessness exactly, but the willingness to begin something you cannot yet see the end of.
Reversed
recklessness, hesitation, the leap refused
Reversed, the Fool's openness curdles into one of two extremes. Either you are leaping without looking in a way that will genuinely cost you, mistaking impulse for courage, or you have talked yourself so thoroughly out of the edge that you have been standing there for months. The card asks which one it is, because the remedy for each is the opposite of the other.
Every draw here is a real quantum draw — The Fool is one of the 78 you might get, and a friend of your choosing reads it aloud.
