expansion, waiting well, ships coming in
The figure watches ships move out across the water; the work is done and now it travels. Upright, this is the productive wait after real effort — foresight paying off, horizons widening, and the confidence to let something out of your hands.
Reversed
delays, narrow horizons, plans stalling
Reversed, the ships are late or were never launched. Progress you expected has not arrived, or you are watching a smaller horizon than the situation actually offers. It asks whether the holdup is out there or in how far you were willing to look.
