Upright
self-sufficiency, earned comfort, independence
A woman stands in her own walled garden with a hooded falcon on her wrist. Everything here she built, including the discipline the falcon represents. Upright, this is independence enjoyed — the comfort of having made your own security and being at ease inside it.
Reversed
isolation, dependence, comfort that confines
Reversed, the garden becomes a wall. Self-sufficiency turns into refusing anyone in, or the comfort is real but borrowed and the independence is not. It also marks success achieved at a cost to everything outside the garden.
