grief, loss, focus on what spilled
A cloaked figure looks down at three fallen cups and does not turn to see the two still standing behind him. The loss is real and the card does not minimise it. Upright, it simply notes the direction of your attention: three are gone, two remain, and both facts are true.
Reversed
acceptance, turning around, moving on
Reversed, the figure turns. Grief begins to loosen its hold and the remaining cups come into view — not as compensation for what was lost, but as what is still here. This is recovery starting, usually slower and less complete than you would like.
